You are being offered a set of pre-WWI stereoscope view cards in original boxes from the Stereo Travel Co. of Corona, NY — with a mahogany wood and aluminum viewer in very nice antique condition with the usual wear you would expect on an item of this age. The felt on the viewer is in excellent condition as is the wood and aluminum. We believe it is an Underwood 1904 model but there are no marks.
There are a total of 269 stereoscope view cards, all in excellent condition and many quite rare. Most are copyright 1908, a few are 1905, 1907 and a couple are from 1910. Most are by the Stereo Travel Co. (Corona, NY). Some are from Underwood & Underwood Publishers (New York, London, Toronto & Ottawa)
This is a great view of the world before the Great War. The views of Egypt alone are from before all the recent archaeology around the Pyramids, the Great Sphinx and Luxor and are magnificent. They are our favorites but the views from Europe, Latin America and Asia are also amazing. This is a great piece of history.
The card views in the separate boxes include:
— France 11
–England, Ireland, Wales 13
–Palestine & Syria 6
