12 Coin Chinese Republic Dollar Type Set — SOLD

12 Coin Chinese Republic Dollar Type Set

These are from the 1949 restrikes of the original coins and are a low grade of silver over nickel-steel.  THESE ARE NOT MODERN REPRODUCTIONS. Most are uncirculated and have wonderful toning.  These were put together over many years of exploring the back rooms and basements of shops in two of New York City’s China Towns, in lower Manhattan and in Flushing, Queens.  Most of these were destroyed by the Communist Chinese but some made their way to Taiwan and eventually to the U.S.  They were the only ones of their type found and this represents a unique collection you will not find anywhere else.  BUY IT NOW OR FOREVER REGRET IT.  A type collection like this will probably never be put together again.
